Where are you from?
Born and raised in the heart of south Jersey, in a small city called Bridgeton. Currently based in Philadelphia, PA.
What inspires you?
Music is a huge inspiration. The right song or album can instantly spark that creative flame in me.
What’s the motivation behind your most recent shoots?
The new year. A fresh start. I needed to set the tone for the rest of 2016. I feel like I exceed lots of the expectations I had for my own work and wanted to create something that I would be proud of. Something that displayed growth from what I produced previously.
Growing up did you know you would get into photography?
Yes and no. Growing up I’ve always been into the arts. Since I was a young child I was good at drawing. That was my thing all the way up until about high school. Photography came into my life towards my senior year of high school. It wasn’t until my fourth semester of college where I decided that if I’m gonna take this thing seriously, I need to man up and make it happen. Here we are now.
Do you have a favorite photographer?
– I can’t say that I have a favorite. I could be all cliche’ and say Ansel Adams but who hasn’t heard that answer before? Currently, I really enjoy the work of Chase Jarvis, Marcus Hyde, and Neave Bozorgi.
What do you enjoy most about photography?
I love meeting new people from different backgrounds and connecting with them. I enjoy digging deep with my subject and pulling some type of emotion out of them. That chemistry we build off camera translates through our images. I’m passionate about what I create and I want my photos to make the viewers feel something.
What’s the biggest city you’ve been to?
New York for sure. Haven’t made a trip up there in little over a year. Gotta make my way there soon. I have some people I’ve been meaning to work with.
What’s your favorite city to visit?
Well I’ve lived on the east coast all of my life so I’d have to say Philly. There’s so much culture and history and an appreciation for the arts. Lots of creative, forward thinkers coming out of that area.
What city do you have on your list to go to before you die?
LA, Toronto, Seattle, London, Cologne, Paris, Marid, Venice, Florence, Rome, Milan, Bridgetown…I can go all day with this.
What is a must have on set?
The right music is a Major Key. Gotta have The Weeknd and Miguel playing in rotation. It’s a certain vibe.
What advice would you give to your younger self?
Block out all of the outside noise and stay on your path. Work hard and stay focused. Don’t allow anyone or anything get in the way of achieving the goals you have for your life.
