Skyrah Bliss Loves Her Work

III cover art-3
How did you start singing?

I have always been musically intrigued from an early age. I began writing songs at the sweet age of 5 years old. I was a little on they shy side so I hide my songwriting and singing abilities until I entered in a singing competition in my early teenage years. It resulted in me being the third member of a girl group and later on I became a solo artist!

Where are you from?
I’m born and raised in Houston, TX!

Growing up who did you listen to?
I mostly listened to old school music. A lot of 70’s and 80’s influences anything from Funk, R&B, Disco & Jazz. I’m a 90’s kid so the stylistics of the 90’s are always implanted in pretty much everything I do wether it’s image or musically.

What inspires your music?
I find inspiration for my music everywhere. Anywhere from nature, personal life experience, my friends life experiences, the way a certain outfit makes you feel, I can find inspiration for any and everywhere. I just released a new single called, “I I I” it’s available on all music outlets (iTunes, Google Play, etc.) and streaming on all streaming sites (Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, etc.)

What’s the biggest city you’ve been to?
The biggest city I’ve ever been to was Los Angeles, California.

What’s your most favorite city to visit?
So far my favorite city I’ve ever visit would have to be Los Angeles, CA. I’m going to visit New York City, NY later this year so I’m hoping to add it to my list of favorite cities.

What city do you have on your list to go to before you die?
I want to travel the world. I want to be able to reach as many people as possible through the beauty of music before I pass.

How do you stay inspired when you don’t see a positive future?
They way I stay positive about my future is to always remember that every obstacle I’ve faced is merely a learning opportunity and stepping stone to my success. It’s not easy being a full time artist but having the mindset of knowing I can do anything puts me in the right headspace to further my career.

Tell us the motivation behind your next release.
My motivation behind my next project comes from how free I feel on stage sharing my gift. I want everyone to be able to listen to my project and mentally escape all the negativity around them and get lost in themselves. That’s why I named my EP “Vacate” and I’m really excited to share my new music with the world.
