In 1969 one of the most memorable festivals known as “Woodstock” took place, and left a staple in the world. Woodstock showed how an entire generation organized themselves to come together to deliver a message of peace and cultural expression. Legendary artist like Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin took stage in front of thousands to promote peace through their music. NOW in 2011 @viciousindian (known to her twitter followers) and her Pretty Hustle Ent.,crew has awakened Woodstock but given it a modern style like never before.
On October 23, 2011the city of Houston came together at stand still, or moved in slow motion to the elements lifted at what is now Urban Woodstock. For days and weeks the trending topic on twitter read “#UrbanWoodstock”, timelines were filled with supporters of the movement throughout all of Houston, surrounding cities, and states. People traveled to see what exactly was #UrbanWoodstock and why were people so obsessed with it. Urban Woodstock is a haven for indie artist, and lovers of music. Other things to be enjoyed are the gifts of the earth (if you know what I mean “420”). Warner Bro’s artist and Houston native, Kirko Bangz sat at the front of the stage as he was given plain vision to what is follow him out of Houston. Many artist took the stage that night in a concert that will go unforgotten. The most memorable moments (per twitter) were Nino Gotti, HoodStar Chantz, Go MC Beezy & Rai P, Young Von, and Ken Da Fool. In a category of her own you seen Varrie V’s name trending all over twitter giving her kudos for her REMARKABLE performance. Even if you knew nothing about her before, you knew who she was the next day because @varrie_songbird was the “IT” girl on twitter.

Just as Woodstock made a lasting impression in 1969, here we are today in 2011 preparing for history to come back around byway of Urban Woodstock. This festival concert managed to bring out well over one thousand guest from what my eyes seen. The complaints to be made were the mosquitoes that had a feast; however, @viciousindian tried to accommodate with tiki torches and candles. SORRY THAT DIDN’T WORK OUT! No one really cared because after a few of @viciousindian “SPACE COOKIES” and “JELLO SHOTS” in combination with their AIRPLANES (as Wiz Khalifa calls it) everyone enjoyed themselves! No specific date has been released for the next Urban Woodstock, but it’s surely on the way. I remember hearing someone say ”This could be bigger than SXSW”, WOW! REALLY? (flattery compliment) Shout out to HOUSTON and the NEW HOUSTON movement!
