Today we have the opportunity to talk to one of the hardest working, independent models out there. Sitting here with me today is Miss Tiffany. So go ahead and introduce yourself to everyone who may not know who you are?
It’s me Tiffany! I am a model, actress and athlete [laughs] Most may know me from NBCs show, Escape Routes.
You’ve been putting in a lot of work. I hear you went from athlete to model, how did that happen?
Well I played basketball majority of my life. I played Division one ball and overseas a bit. But I did modeling on the side until I decided to hang up my hooping shoes for stilettos [laughs]. Now I’m just trying to be successful doing what I love.
What has been your most humbling experience so far?
The emails, messages and text from people asking me for advice. I help out as much as I can. I had one girl tell me she’s living her dreams through me, that’s humbling. Then let her know, I’m STILL trying grinding!
You were just recently on NBC with the show “Escape Routes”, tell everyone about how that happened?
My friend/teammate Chekesha asked me of I wanted to be on the show with her, I said “OK!” [laughs]. The show picked their cast and we were placed in an online voting ballot and WON! We were cast on the show as the wild cards.
I know a lot of reality shows don’t really portray people in the light that they may want to be in. Do you feel that NBC did you any justice?
I feel like NBC portrayed me perfectly. It showed both sides of me. The model and the athlete.
What are your views on these reality shows that are promoting women bullying and fighting one another?
I mean, it’s reality. Feelings and emotions doesn’t change because there’s a camera in your face. The bullying, I don’t condone. The fighting can always be avoided. But it’s nature, I wouldn’t do it.
Every person has someone that they look up and model their footsteps in.
Who is that person for you and why?
I can’t name one person in particular because I learn a lot of different things from many amazing models. I respect any model doing it big.
Tell me what designer(s) you would like to work with if you had the opportunity?
I would definitely love to work with some of the biggest designers from Christian Dior, Versace, Valentino Garavani and many others. Hopefully walk for them in Milan or Paris one day. [laughs]
If you had the opportunity to pose with any other model who would it be and why?
Hmmm… I really like Chanel Iman. She’s doing well in the industry and is giving more ethnic models hopes.
What advice do you give the young girl who is reading this right now and looking to you for inspiration?
If you want something, go get it! Don’t ever settle for less. Stay true to yourself.
Let everyone know where they can find you at if they want to connect with you.
