What was it like growing up so young modeling
When I started in the 6th grade, I was so excited and telling everyone that I was going to be a model. Some of my friends didn’t even believe me until I showed them my portfolio! It gave me an early idea of how the industry was so competitive and that I would have to get used to rejection and criticism when I didn’t book a job.
Do you think that shaped your career?
Starting young did shape my career today. Back then, I didn’t realize how much you have to invest in yourself because my mom was paying for my comp-cards and modeling/acting workshops. I feel because of those classes, I was ahead of the game by knowing the proper way to strut while new models are learning from Youtube!
What advice would you give someone looking to model?
Don’t be afraid to take classes. Some models think that modeling schools are scams because you have to pay them. They really teach you what you need to know to not look like a fool in this industry: how to do your own makeup for different looks, proper runway walk, how to look for go-sees.
Describe your favorite moment as a model?
My favorite moment has to be seeing the finished product and the whole photoshoot process. I get so excited when I see photos from a shoot. Especially if it was a fun shoot with great, professional and fun people.
