Joe Simpson – Jessica and Ashlee Simpson’s father — was busted for DUI by LAPD officers. The 54-year-old Simpson was pulled over on Ventura Blvd. in Sherman Oaks, California. When police suspected that he was intoxicated, he was reportedly handcuffed and taken into custody where he spent the night sobering up. He was released the following morning without having to post bail.
Presently, the case has not been referred over to prosecutors in the L.A. City Attorney’s Office, but if criminal charges are filed, it’s unlikely Simpson will get any prison time since it’s his first offense.
