How did you start modeling?
I started modeling because I was very tall and shy. At 14 years old I was almost 5,10 tall. And I´ve always liked the beauty and art. So I thought: “Maybe I can be good at this! And I won´t feel so strange about my height anymore” All my life I had to hear “You are so tall! Do you play basketball?” 😉 Being a model made me more secure in my life. I´ve gotten to meet beautiful people who are very involved in the fashion: designers, make-up artists, photographers, models,… I´ve really learned a lot and it will be part of me forever.

Why did you become an actress?
Well…again because I was and I´m shy, hahaha…And I really, really need to express myself. I love people and I love communication. And without been very aware of that, I became an actress. I´ve been very curious all my life. I enjoy watching people in the subway, on the bus, on the street,…there are interesting histories everywhere! I try to be as honest as I can every time I have to play a character. To have the opportunity to be another person, to listen very deeply another life. It´s just beautiful!!

Who is your favorite artist?
I love many artists! But Pina Bausch is one of my favorites. The way she shows all the vulnerability of the human being. It´s amazing! I just love her work and creativity. Have you seen the movie “Pina”? It´s a pleasure for the senses.

Did you grow up with a large family?
I´m the only child. My parents were working all day and they decided that with me, it was enough. I used to complain as a child: “I want a brother!!!or sister!!” And my mother looked at me and I used to said “Marina, with you is enough”.
I was with my grandmother or alone most of the time. I think the need of expression started in those moments.

What do you do in your free time?
I like to dance, go to the theater, travel and to be with the people I love.

Do you like to live in others cities that are not yours?
I love to live and work in different places. That makes me learn the language, the culture and discover new perspectives of life. It´s like I open a little door in my head. I´ve already live in Sydney, Paris, Berlin, Brussels, Madrid and now New York. And the best thing about it is: I have many friends over the world!

What’s the biggest city you’ve been to?
New York without a doubt! Oh my God, this city is so big! I´m enjoying it very much. You can find everything here. It´s a city with a lot of possibilities. If you listen to it deeply, a lot of opportunities will come to you.
One thing that I love to do when I travel is taking dance classes. And in NY there is full of dance schools. I´m feeling like in the “Fame” movie! It´s fantastic to find people of all ages in a class.

What’s your most favorite city to visit?
I have many cities that I love, Berlin maybe one of my favorites. I started visiting 13 years ago. I decided to learn german and I went for the summer. And it became a love story. It´s a great city, very artistic and beautiful. I love Prenzlauer Berg, Kreuzberg, the flohmarkts, the glühwein,… I have lots of friends now. Maybe is the city that I know more besides Barcelona.

Do you like pets? Do you own any?
I love pets. But unfortunately I´m allergic to cats. I don´t have any because I spend a lot of time away from home and a pet is a big responsibility. I´m part of the Spanish Animal Shelter called FAADA.

What turns you on about a man?
Well…every man is different. But I guess for me the sense of humor is very important. The ability to laugh at life. With laughter life is better.

What makes you laugh in life?
Lately I´m discovering that I´m laughing about the drama. When a situation is very dramatic suddenly it becomes funny. The mistakes, about not knowing,… I laugh a lot about myself. And I love very much the Stand up Comedy. I have enjoyed it in New York very much.
