Get Familiar With Shawn Bruneau

Vancouver, BC based model, Shawn Bruneau is becoming quite the familiar name with modeling for companies such as Apple, Agustina Jewelry, Harley Davidson, Belmont, C:EHKO, Dairyland and more.

Being a music teacher, playing in a successful band and taking care of people with disabilities, Bruneau decided to take a leap into the modeling world. Without much knowledge of the modeling industry, he searched YouTube videos, looked through magazines, photography websites and spent many late nights perfecting his poses in front of the mirror.

“Once, I ended up going to a library to pick up a Modeling for Dummies book”, laughs Shawn.

Bruneau knew that if he wanted to experience any form of success giving up would not be an option.

Now, 4 years later, you can see Bruneau featured on many websites, ads, catalogues and magazines. He has done a fair share of acting as well. He’s done stand-up with comedy clubs, emceed in stadiums, guest appeared on several TV shows, entertained cross Canadian, American & Mexican Schools and Universities.

Instant success you could say, but it was not always so easy for Bruneau. At the age of 16 years old, Bruneau suffered a major open head injury where he was clinically pronounced dead for approximately 45 minutes. After coming out of a 7 day coma, the doctor’s prognoses was 100% mental retardation. He was paralyzed in 60% of the right side of his body and had to learn how to and talk and read all over again along with tremendous amounts of other difficulties.

Without all of the prayers and the power of God, Bruneau believes he would not be here today. Allowing this to not get the best of him, he took this as an opportunity to help others in need and seeing life in a much more positive way.

Bruneau proudly says, “We all owe ourselves the chance of becoming someone we dream of being. So write down your goals, work towards them daily and surround yourself around people who believe in you. That’s how you reach the stars”.
