CJ, can you tell us a bit about yourself?
I am a 26 year old entrepreneur. I moved to LA when I was 18. When I started modeling here, that’s when my interest in business blossomed. The owners were primarily men, starting out with little knowledge of the women’s apparel industry, often times people who had moved to the United States and built themselves from nothing. I was so fascinated in how they paved their own way that I began to wonder why many young women didn’t take the initiative to start their own business. From there I enrolled in the UCLA business-entrepreneur program and have since launched my Athletic-Wear, Neon Beige.

Where are you from originally, and how did you become a model?
I was born in a little surf town, Santa Cruz, California. My dad was a model in San Francisco and when I was little, he and his fashion friends would dress me up in boas and costume jewelry. They’d even make me work on my runway walk! I’ve been a model ever since!

What are your biggest career highlights?
The last few months were pretty big for me! I did my very first stand up comedy show at the Comedy Store in Hollywood and then I left for the Bahamas to do a photoshoot for Maxim France!

What is your favorite hobby?
I like giving my dogs at home haircuts and then literally jogging to the groomers and telling them I have no idea what happened to my dog’s hair, but can they please fix it!

Have you experienced a situation that changed your life exponentially? What did you learn?
I changed my ex boyfriend’s name in my phone to “Voldemort” (like from Harry Potter). Now I avoid him at all costs and work out more. I learned the power of speaking things into existence and manifestation. I think a little bit of magic too (any Harry Potter Fans out there?)

What are you looking for in a man? What do you do to get his attention?
I like funny guys! They have to be super polite and respectful, easy going, and adventurous (he can also be sexy, I’m okay with that). One time I saw this really cute guy at Disneyland and he didn’t notice me. What’s a girl to do? I took off my sandal and threw it at him! He graciously retrieved my sandal and struck up a conversation with me.. When it’s meant to be, it’s meant to be.

What is your first ideal date?
Riding a tandem bicycle, like we’re in a romance movie montage (and he’s pulling all the weight.)

What’s the most uncomfortable thing that happened to you during a date?
I was at the Beverly Hills Hotel on a very lovely date with this guy I had been seeing, when suddenly I hear someone calling out, “CJ? Hello?” I look over, only to see my ex boyfriend and his entourage of friends sitting directly across from me. Really hard to move forward with someone new, while literally making eye contact with my ex-boyfriend!

What’s the most pleasant date you’ve been on?
I was at my favorite taqueria eating all by myself, when a guy I knew came in and joined me. It was great! We actually ended up going out for a movie and ran into my friend Sarah. They started dating and now they’re engaged! Wait was this supposed to be my best date?! Dammit!

What’s the worst pick-up line you’ve ever heard?
“I’m not a photographer, but I can picture us together.” Runner up could be “shake it like a polaroid.”

What advice do you have for men who want to approach an attractive woman such as yourself?
Women get hit on all the time, so don’t hit on them! Give genuine compliments, make her laugh, find out if you have shared interest and things in common. Ask her to do something you think she’ll enjoy. Be her friend first and see where things go from there. Be organic about it, don’t try to force anything. Women find that more attractive than a guy who is just trying to sleep with them.

What’s your guiltiest pleasure?
I like to hang out at the Courthouse to show up to public trials, raise my hand from the back of the room and say “guilty!!”

When do you feel sexiest?
Right after a photo shoot while I’m still done up with my hair and makeup. It takes the pressure off of getting ready! You go from daytime to playtime soon as you leave set!
