Daniel Ray is an Italian singer-songwriter and guitarist. He performs solo as well as play guitar and provide lead vocals for the Rome-based punk-rock band The Steel Cadillac which I formed in 2012. He lived in Dublin, Ireland, and currently live in his hometown Rome, Italy. In 2008 I released a solo full-lenght album called “Strade Di Fuoco”. His first album, written and produced by Ray himself, includes only his songs written in Italian. When he was a kid he listened to a lot of Beatles, Bob Dylan, Rolling Stones, Elvis Presley… that kind of thing, thanks to old records in his house!
Then he discovered The Boss (yeah… the man who saved rock’n'roll!) and his fondness for Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, Clash, Johhny Cash and Irish folk-rock is a significant influence on his music.
He listen to all kinds of good music but his favorite style is punk-rock and also powerful acoustic-set performed live. He loves current music scene of punk-rockers from U.S.A. and UK. Do you want a few names? Well, he likes Brian Fallon from The Gaslight Anthem and The Horrible Crowes, Chuck Ragan with his Hot Water Music, Tom Gabel from Against Me!, Dave Hause from The Loved Ones, Frank Turner, Social Distortion, the mad genius Franz Nicolay and… all the fuckin’ rock’n'roll!
On YouTube some cover songs by Daniel Ray are available on his channel! Recently Daniel started a new YouTube channel www.youtube.com/danielraymusic where he’s uploading new original songs, vlogs and cool stuff soon… also some thing shit!
