Name: Liz Dorsey (Taylor)
How did you start modeling?
My best friend of eleven years has told me from day 1, “Girl! You should be a supermodel!” Since she is a social butterfly, she arranged for me to shoot with a local photographer in West Virginia about seven years ago. Now she does my hair and makeup, and still manages and coordinates some of my shoots.
Where did you grow up?
I was born and raised in Portland, OR until moving to southern West Virginia in 2001 for my eighth grade year. I went from a middle school of about 2,500 kids to a school population of 120! Even though the culture is very different, I now consider myself a local of WV. And West Virginia is gorgeous!!
Tell us what are you into besides modeling?
Skiing and photography!
What do you do in your free time?
I love being outdoors but I also love to read, write, and color tattoo designs.
Do you have any tattoos?
I currently have 2 tats…a blue rose on the back of my neck which symbolizes Portland, OR. No matter where I go, I have a little piece of home with me. And also a freedom ribbon on my hip to remember our veterans and when my mother was deployed to Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2008.
Do you like animals? Do you own any?
I love animals! My husband and I have a blue Weimeraner named Zander. He hates to be alone and is usually stuck to my side like Velcro!
What is your weak spot?
Book stores and shoe stores!
What turns you on about a man?
Green eyes, a high IQ, a sense of humor, and a straight nose.
What are your goals for 2016?
Surround myself with positive people, don’t forget to be selfish sometimes, and always show gratitude instead of taking people or things for granted.
Who is your favorite music artist?
My beats hinge on my mood…anything from Florence+The Machine to A Perfect Circle to Odesza.
What’s the biggest city you’ve been to?
Munich, Germany. The city itself is not enormous, like NYC or Hong Kong, but the buildings will make you squint into the sun looking up at gothic architecture from castles out of fairy-tales and churches from before the turn of the century.
Any tips for other models?
Surround yourself with people who encourage your dreams, not people who tear them down.
